Sad announcement
It is with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death of our colleague Prof. Dr. Elfriede Billmann-Mahecha. She played a key role in shaping the scientific profile of our institute and was also actively involved at faculty and university level, most recently as Vice President for Teaching for many years. We have lost a respected and highly esteemed scientist who always stood up for the interests of all employees and students and was held in high regard for her helpfulness, integrity, and collegiality. We extend our deepest condolences to her family.
